The chairwoman of the Republican National Committee is looking to set up the GOP for major wins ahead of the 2018 midterms.

The RNC is adding an unprecedented number of staff to their ranks in hopes to secure a victory for Republicans ahead of midterms.

RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said she expects to double the ranks of the committee by the end of March, and is hoping to add up to 200 more members by summer.

The chairwoman credits the boost to successful GOP fundraising campaigns, which have seen increasing donations since the beginning of President Trump’s term.

During an interview, the chairwoman was asked why she believes the Republican Committee has seen more success than the DNC.

She criticized the left for their decision to invest time and campaign funds on a singular candidate rather than the party at large.

“The DNC is still dealing with the division and the debacle of 2016, with Bernie Sanders recognizing that they put their thumb on the scale for Hillary Clinton,” said McDaniel. “Bernie Sanders supporters have said no, hands off — we’re not gonna support the DNC, they have a trust issue.”

The Republican Committee was able to raise a record breaking $132.5 million at the end of 2017 alone compared to the $67 million pulled in by Democrats.

Adding fuel to the fire, McDaniel suggested that Democrats may not even have a strong enough platform to run against Republicans come November elections.

Meanwhile, reports say the Democratic National Committee is continuing to struggle to raise funds, which leaves them with an uphill battle on the campaign trail despite holding the so-called “presidential penalty” advantage.
