On Monday, Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley and Senator Lindsey Graham released an email that Obama’s former national security adviser sent to herself on President Trump’s inauguration day.

Rice states in the unclassified document, Obama wanted the investigation into alleged Russian meddling to be “done by the book.”

The email also outlined an Oval Office meeting with Obama, James Comey, Sally Yates, and Joe Biden that took place that month.

Senator Graham calls the email both odd and disturbing.

Graham and Grassley hope to verify the timeline of events, and sent a letter to Rice asking how it pertains to the Russia dossier.

The former national security adviser has until Thursday, February 22 to respond.
